Testament Reveals Tentative Title for Forthcoming Album

Bay Area thrash legends Testament revealed Sunday they have adopted the tentative title of The Brotherhood of the Snake for their upcoming eleventh studio album.  The band has already begun the recording process, and hopes to drop the disc on Nuclear Blast later this year.  So far, the band has laid down the musical tracks for the projected title track, and frontman Chuck Billy will lay down the vocals over the weekend with the hope of getting the track mixed next week.  During an appearance on WMSC 90.3's "Metal Teddy Bear Show", Billy indicated that the song will probably be given away as a freebie once it's ready, though he stopped short of announcing any further details.  Billy also declined to offer up any more song titles from the new album, noting that he hasn't even finished the lyrics for the album yet.  The singer hopes to complete the lyrics during the band's upcoming tour with Slayer and Carcass, explaining:  "On this tour, the music, like I said, will be done.  The lyrics, it'll be easier, probably, to get lyrics done on tour. Writing the music, it's really tough, because, of course, there's nowhere to jam. But as far as the vocals, I'm bringing all my recording gear, so I'll be able to still do all the demos vocally out on the road."

Testament's trek with Slayer and Carcass is slated to kick off February 19th at Chicago's Riviera Theatre.  The five week trek includes 21 stops across the US and Canada, wrapping up March 26th at The Joint in Las Vegas.  Click Here for a complete list of dates and venues.
