LA City Council to Honor Motorhead's 40th Anniversary

Heavy metal legends Motorhead will be honored later this month by the City Council in Los Angeles, where the band's iconic frontman has lived for the last 40 years. Celebrating the band's 40th anniversary, the ceremony will take placeAugust 26th at 10 AM in Council Chambers at LA's City Hall, and will be overseen by Council member Jose Huizar. The event will also coincide with the release date of the band's 22nd full-length album, "Bad Magic," which hits stores two days after the ceremony on August 28th. Motorhead has been forced to cancel a number of tour dates over the last few years due to a variety of health problems for frontman Lemmy Kilmister. According to reports, Lemmy has cut back to one pack of cigare per week and switched from Jack Daniels and Coke to vodka and orange juice as his drink of choice, a move doctors suggested to minimize the effects of diabetes.
