Metallica Seeks Fan Input for Ride the Lightning, Kill 'Em All Reissues

While legendary Bay Area thrash gods Metallica are reportedly working on their first album in more than six years, they are also preparing to drop deluxe, remastered reissues of their classic first two albums, 1983's Kill 'Em All and 1984's Ride the Lightning.  The reissues won't hit stores until next year, but the band has asked its loyal throngs of fans to help out with the project.  In a post on the official Metallica website, the band reached out to fans for photos, video clips, recordings or memorabilia from the band's early days, 1983-1985.  "We want it all," read the website post, "Did you manage to sneak a video camera into a show long before they fit in your pocket? Maybe your old instamatic camera for some snapshots? A cassette Walkman with a microphone? We're looking for anything and everything...audio, video, photos, fliers, ticket stubs, the set list you picked up off the floor and in general any mementos you may have from that around that time."

If you have anything you think might interest the band in its search, you can email the band at submissions@metclub.com.  In the meantime, the band has yet to announce a release date for its forthcoming 10th studio album.
