Cheap Trick filed a lawsuit this week against organizers of the 2011 Ottawa Bluesfest for damages caused by the group's insufficient response to a stage collapse that injured one of the band's roadies.  The band is seeking $1 million in damages for the incident, which left roadie Sandy Sanderson with a pierced abdomen and a broken pelvis.  The suit accuses organizers of putting economic considerations ahead of the safety of bands and crew, and characterizes their response as "unsuitable, haphazard and inadequate."  The suit asks for $400,000 for the band's lost equipment, plus another $600,000 for "special damages including interim replacement equipment, labour, travel and services."  Check out a video of Cheap Trick frontman Robin Zander surveying the damage after the storm brought down the Bluesfest stage.
