I was very sorry to hear that The Mars Volta have decided to part ways. I saw these guys open for Soundgarden recently and I have also followed them for a long time, truly a great band. Singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala blames the break up on guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, who he claims refuses to take part in a Volta tour due to his other band Bosnian Rainbows. At one point Zavala tweeted, What am I supposed to be, some progressive housewife thats cool with watching their partner go fuck other bands?", he continued, I cant sit here and pretend any more. I no longer am a member of Mars Volta. Sadly its over......For the record I tried my hardest to get a full scale North American tour going but Omar did not want to.....I just feel really guilty for not even really saying the truth because a hiatus (the band had previously announced that they were going on hiatus so Lopez could focus on his new project) is just an insult to the fans. All I can do is move forward with my music and just be happy that Mars Volta ever happened at all. God damn we had a blast.
