MTV revealed the nominees for the 2012 MTV Music Video Awards on Tuesday, and Drake and Rihanna are in prime position with a total of five nominations apiece. Katy Perry, who dominated the 2011 VMAs, was close behind with four nods. Drake and Rihanna have a shot at the coveted Video of the Year award with their duet "Take Care," and Rihanna was also nominated in the category for "We Found Love." The other nominations in the category are Perry's "Wide Awake," Goyte's "Somebody that I Used to Know, and M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls." The VMAs ceremony will take place September 6th at the Staples Center in L.A., and will be televised live on MTV. Alicia Keys and One Direction have been confirmed as performers at the ceremony, and more will be announced over the next two weeks. Check out the videos vying for Video of the Year below.
