A woman in Oregon has filed a lawsuit against teen heartthrob Justin Bieber alleging that the singer's encouragement of applause caused permanent damage to her hearing. Filed by Stacey Wilson Betts, the lawsuit also names Bieber's record label, the Portland arena where the alleged injury took place, and the company that promoted the show. Betts is seeking $9.23 million in damages. Interestingly, it wasn't the loud music that Betts claims damaged her hearing, it was the incessant screaming of Bieber's legions of fans, as well as his encouragement of them.
