Fifty years after they broke onto the music scene with "Surfin' USA", the Beach Boys set a new record for time elapsed between Top 10 records this week as their "That's Why God Made Radio" debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Way back in June 1963, the Beach Boys first reached the Billboard Top 10 with "Surfin' USA," making it forty-nine years and a week between Top 10s. The Beatles had previously held the mark, at forty-seven years, sveen months and a week, and the Roling Stones fell to third with their span of 45 years, six months between first and last Top 10 album. Of course, those rankings are for bands, and the single artist with the longest span between Top 10s is Frank Sinatra, who scored a Top 10 with "Nothing But the Best" in September 2008, more than 52 years after reaching the club in 1956 with "Songs for Swingin' Lovers!"
