Chuck Brown, the influential guitarist and singer commonly referred to as the "Godfather of Go-Go," passed away on Wednesday following a battle with pneumonia. He was 75. Brown is widely credited with being the driving force behind the creation of go-go music, a style of funk developed around the Washington D.C. area in the mid to late 1970s. Go-Go failed to cagain prominence on a national level, but several of Brown's hits achieved notoriety, including "Bustin' Loose," the track that reached the top of the R&B songs charts in 1979.
