Motown legend Stevie Wonder has been selected to receive this year's Billboard Icon Award, which honors musicians for substantial lifetime achievement and influence on the American music industry. Wonder will receive the award at a ceremony on May 20th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, which will be broadcast live on ABC television.
Already enshrined in both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Wonder is one of the most celebrated American artists of the 20th century. He first popped onto the American music scene in 1963 at the age of 13 with the hit single "Fingertips (Pt. 2)" and amassed an impressive total of 32 No. 1 singles in his career.
