USA Today is reporting that former Pantera bassist Rex "Rocker" Brown, 48, is in deep with the tax man. The IRS has filed five tax liens against Brown, totaling $449,567 in unpaid taxes. The latest and largest lien was filed in January and amounts to $210,157. A sixth lien for $72,695 was released in 2008, which means Brown paid that debt.
The government could seize Brown's cut of Pantera revenue, from album sales and publishing. Hopefully the bassist can get a payment plan worked out before the re-release of the deluxe version of the band's most successful album, Vulgar Display of Power, on May 15th.
