Legendary grunge rockers Soundgarden are close to releasing their first new song in some 15 years.  Titled "Live to Rise," the song was recorded for the soundtrack for Marvels' upcoming film, "Avengers," which stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson and will hit theaters May 4th.  The soundtrack, which will also feature Shinedown, Papa Roach and Buck Cherry, hits stores on may 1st.  Check out the soundtrack's full tracklisting and a sample of "Live to Rise" below.

A full album from Soundgarden, its first since "Down On the Upside" in 1996, is tentatively expected to be released in the fall.
