Jim Sherwood, the multi-instrumentalist who rose to prominence as a member of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, passed away on Christmas Day at the age of 69.  A cause of death has not yet been determined.  Sherwood was a big part of the sound heard on the Mothers of Invention records, performing supplying baritone and tenor sax, percussion and vocals for the projects.
