Pop superstar Lady Gaga sits easily at the top of Forbes' latest list of the top earning women in music, earning $90 million according to the finance magazine. Gaga doubled the earnings of the No. 2 artist on the list, Taylor Swift, who earned $45 million to just beat out Katy Perry, who earned $44 million.
The list was compiled based on earnings between May 2010 and May 2011, meaning that Adele, who earned $18 million to come in ninth place based on just the first few months of sales of her blockbuster hit "21," will likely place very high on next year's list, and may even unseat Gaga as the highest-earning woman in music.
After Perry, the rest of the Top 10 on the list includes Beyonce ($35 million), Rihanna ($29 million), Pink ($22 million), Carrie Underwood ($20 million), Celine Dion ($19 million), Adele, and Britney Spears, who tied with Alicia Keys with earnings of $10 million to round out the top 10.
