An appeals court ruled Wednesday that CBS won't have to pay a $550,000 fine for Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction during the halftime show of Super Bowl 38 in 2004. The ruling brings the episode to a conclusion after years of opposing decisions.
Jackson and CBS were each fined after the infamous incident, when Jackson's breast was exposed on live television. The fine was nullified in 2008, but that ruling was overturned by the Supreme Court. The incident garnered so much attention that the networks began utilizing a delay during live broadcasts so that any future embarrassing incidents could be blocked.
