Among the first-time nominees for induction into this year's class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are the iconic 80s hair metal band, Guns n' Roses, legendary rockers Heart, Joan Jett & the Black Hearts and The Cure. The four join eleven other acts up for induction for a second time or more, including the Beastie Boys, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donna Summers and others.
The fifteen finalists will be on a ballot that gets sent to 500 voters, whose who will each select five acts for enshrinement, then the five with the most votes will be inducted on April 14th, when the Hall will welcome its 27th class in Cleveland, Ohio. Artists are eligible for consideration 25 years after their first release, so this is the first year Guns was eligible, as it's the 25th anniversary of their classic debut, "Appetite for Destruction."
