Daryl Hall, one-half of the popular 80s pop duo Hall & Oates, has spent the last four years hosting his own music and interview show on the Web which will debut on broadcast television in 95 markets on September 24th. Called "Live from Daryl's House," the show is taped at a studio in Hall's home in Millerton, New York and has been running since November 2007, when the first episode was taped.
"This is the logical extension of what we started with a flip cam," Hall explained in an interview with Billboard.com. He also said that he would not adapt the show in any way for television, calling the show an "Internet show that is being shown on television." The show has actually appeared on TV once before, as a special New Year's Eve Countdown show on WGN America to close out 2010.
The show's production quality has increased over time. Hall's longtime partner John Oates appeared on an early episode, while other guests have included Matchbox 20 frontman Robb Thomas, Motown legend Smokey Robinson, Booker T. Jones, the Goo Goo Dolls and more. To see any episode simply go to LiveFromDarylsHouse.com. Check out a performance of Hall & Oates' classic single "She's Gone" featuring Robb Tomas below.
