Party rockers Phish played in their home state of Vermont for the first time in seven years Wednesday with the proceeds benefited residents of the state that was ravaged by flooding and gale force wind in Hurricane Irene. The storm killed four people and caused massice damage to hundreds of homes, roads and bridges across the state. The show drew about 12,000 fans, at $75-plus a ticket, to the Champlain Valley Exposition fairgrounds in Essex Junction. Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin introduced the band.
