Hop-hop star Eminem and breakout teen star Justin Bieber dominated the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, taking home a total of six awards each.  Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Usher Mumford & Sons and Taio Cruz tied for third place with three trophies during the ceremony.

Eminem took home the honors for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Song, and Top Rap Album.  Justin Bieber, meanwhile, won awards for Fan Favorite, Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Digital Media Artist, Top Pop Album, and Top Streaming Song.

Three special awards were also handed out during the ceremony, Beyonce was recognized with Billboard's Millenium Award, Jazz / pop legend Neil Diamond was given the Billboard Icon Award, and U2 was awarded the Touring trophy.
