The Decemberists claimed the top spot in the latest Billboard 200 albums chart, with their latest effore, "The King Is Dead." The album moved 94,000 copies in its first week to debut atop the chart. It's the band's first #1 album, and easily their highest one-week sales total in their history. While the total sounds somewhat low for a #1 album, its sales actually beat its two predecessors atop the list, Cake's "Showroom of Compassion," which moved 44,000 and Taylor Swift's "Speak Now," which sold 52,000 copies. Cake's 44k total set a record for least sales for a Billboard #1 album in the Soundscan era (since 1991), a record set the week before by Swift's album.
