Pop superstar Lady Gaga is expected to be the top-earning music act of 2011, according to a report from Forbes Magazine, surpassing $100 million in earnings. Gaga is scheduled to perform 41 concerts over the next 6 months, earning her an estimated $33 million, or about $800,000 per concert.
Her next record, Born This Way, is scheduled to hit stores in June, and, based on her past sales history, should rake in between $10- and $15-million for the singer. Since Gaga writes all of her own music, she should get about the same from songwriter royalties from radio play of her songs.
Forbes expects Gaga to launch a stadium tour after Born This Way drops, which should bring her in another $45 million. Add in money she earns for endorsing various products such as the newly unveiled Polaroid Gray Line, and Forbes estimates she will earn between $100- and $130- million for the year.
