Rapper Ja Rule entered into a plea agreement on Monday in a Manhattan courtroom that will send him to New York prison for two years on a Class D felony charge of criminal possession of a weapon. The charge stems from an incident that occurred in July 2007. Ja Rule could have faced a sentence of up to seven years if he had not reached the plea deal, under which he will likely serve 16 months followed 1.5 years on probation. The rapper is expected to be sentenced and begin his sentence next February.
