Pop star Katy Perry became the first female artist in 11 years on Wednesday to have three straight radio singles from an album rise to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, as "Firework" lifted to the top spot from No. 2. Perry climbed the chart in June with "California Girls" and in September with "Teenage Dream." Check out the clip of Perry performing the song live below.
The last female to accomplish the feat was Monica, who topped the singles chart with three cuts off of "The Boy Is Mine" between June 1998 and February 1999.
"Firework" is Perry's fourth consecutive Number 1 single, and marks the sixth different song to sit atop the Hot 100 in six weeks, a turnover not seen at the top of the chart in over 20 years.
