Totonto-born rap star Drake has reportedly accepted an invitation from the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to host the 40th annual Juno Awards. The ceremony will take place on March 27th, 2011 at the Air Canada Centre in his hometown and will be broadcast live on CTV.
"I am beyond honored to be hosting this monumental Juno Awards in the greatest city on earth," Drake commented about the honor in a statement. "I want to bring a youthful energy to the show and encourage people to be excited about what Canadian music has to offer."
The up-and-coming rapper recieved two Junos himself earlier this year for Best New Artist and Best Rap Recording Artist. He also just received four nominations for the upcoming Grammy Awards.
Nominations for the 2011 Junos are scheduled to be announced on February 1st.
