The members of Pink Floyd have filed a lawsuit against EMI Records alleging breach of contract in relation to EMI selling Pink Floyd songs individually as downloads. The band's representatives claim that the 1999 contract in question stipulates that the songs not be sold other than as part of the album they're on. EMI argues that the contract predates digital download sales of music and so only covers physical releases of individual songs. This marks the second time Pink Floyd have sued EMI, having sued the label last year over alleged miscalculation of royalties.
