According to a recent Joe Perry radio interview, Aersomith frontman Steven Tyler auditioned to become Led Zeppelin's lead singer back in 2008. After a tryout jam session, Tyler was dismissed by Zeppelin's Jimmy Page.

"It's something I've never talked about before," Perry revealed in the interview. "It's a kind of window into how hard it's been to keep the partnership together. It's not the first time things like this have happened -- that's the downside of our relationship."
