Singer / songwriter Vic Chestnutt passed away at the age of 45 on Friday after having apparently attempted to commit suicide. Chestnutt had been in a wheelchair his entire adult life after an accident. He was discovered in the late eighties by R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, who went on to produce his first two albums. Chestnutt would go on to release 15 albums total, including two in 2009.
