Thanks to a "shipping mishap" at Amazon.com, about 500 copies of the highly anticipated and often delayed Lil' Wayne album "Rebirth" were sent to Amazon customers who pre-ordered the disc. The release dare for the album was delayed for the sixth time last month from December 21st to February 1st. The reason given for the delay was that the album needed to be given a proper set up, though some sources say that it may be worked on, with the possibility of new songs being added. Should that happen, those fans who received the album will be holding a rare collector's item. Amazon officials have not commented on the mistake.
Meanwhile, Lil' Wayne learned yesterday he will begin his prison sentence just eight days after the February 1st release date of "Rebirth". The rapper plead guilty to gun charges in a Manhattan courtroom back in October and is expected to serve a sentence of 8 months to a year in a New York prison.
