U2 has announced that they will be performing a free concert in Berlin to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The concert will take place November 5th in front of the Brandenburg Gate as part of the MTV Europe Musica Awards. The show will be seen by those attending the ceremony in Berlin's O2 World arena via satellite. The Berlin Wall fell on November 9th, 1989 after almost thirty years of separating east and west Germany. U2's 1991 album, "Achtung Baby" was inspired by the band's time in Berlin.
