At MTV's Video Music Awards ceremony at Madison Square Garden last night, Taylor Swift was unexpectedly interrupted during her acceptance speech for the Best Female Video award. Expressing his disappointment that Beyonce had lost to Swift in the category, rapper Kanye West burst onto the stage and snatched the microphone from Swift's hands and ranted briefly about the greatness of Beyonce's video, "Single Ladies". Swift handled the insult gracefully and was later invited onstage by Beyonce, who seemed shocked by West's impromptu appearance, in order to finish her acceptance speech. "Wow, this is amazing," Beyonce said when receiving her award. "I remember being 17-years-old and up for my first MTV award with Destiny's Child. It was one of the most exciting moments in my life. So, I'd like for Taylor to come out and have her moment."
