Mark Knopfler, former frontman for Dire Straits, will be releasing his 6th solo album, "Get Lucky", on September 15th. He's also planning a tour of the US and Europe, tentatively set to begin next spring. "It'll be four, five months," Knopfler said. "Springtime -- April, May -- in the U.S., and June and July in Europe. And I'd like a week at the Royal Albert Hall (in London). Just doing a week is nice; it's not too far from where I live, and it's a good atmosphere in there."
Knopfler recorded the album at his own Britisg Grove Studios in London, and plans to hit the road with the same musicians that played on the album. In addition to playing songs from the new album, he says that he will be dipping into the Dire Straits catalog to fill out his set lists.
