Anvil lead guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner are in Cannes, France to support Sacha Servasi's award-winning documentary "Anvil! The Story of Anvil". The film chronicles the 30-year up-and-down career of the Canadian Metal band, and has become a minor hit in both Britain and the US, grossing over half a million dollars thus far.
"The last year has been an exciting journey -- we've toured the world with the film, and Cannes is like the cherry on top," said Kudlow..
Reiner said being in Cannes was "nice" but "it seems there's a lot of people here looking for money." The 2 were scheduled to perform a private show at Morrison's Pub in the Croisette on Sunday. When asked about having to wait 30 years for their big break, Kudlow said: "I don't regret anything; the way things happened, it makes a much better story, If we broke big in 1982, the whole thing probably would have burned out in two years and that would have been it. So I don't regret a thing. How could I? I'm in Cannes!"
