British new wave legends Depeche Mode had to cancel a show scheduled for Tuesday in Athens, Greece after the band's singer, David Gahan fell ill in his dressing room before the show and had to be rushed to the hospital. There was no immediate word as to Gahan's condition. Depeche Mode has been at the forefront of the British new wave scene since the early 80's. They have had 45 singles in the British charts and have sold more than 75 million albums worldwide. Gahan has been the frontman since the band's inception.
