Lil Wayne , in an attempt to block the release of a documentary based on his life titled, "The Carter", filed a lawsuit against QD3 Entertainment (owned by Quincy Jones III) and Digerati Holdings in March in an attempt to block the release of a documentary titled "The Carter". Lil Wayne claims that the companies promised him approval rights for the final version to be released. The rapper reportedly has issues with certain scenes that show his drug use. His manager allegedly saw the film last December and asked that the scenes be removed, but when the film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, the scenes were still there. L.A. Superior Court Judge Michael Wink rejected Wayne's attorneys' requests for a preliminary injunction, which would have halted distribution of the film.
