In a recent interview with The Metal Voice, longtime Y&T frontman Dave Meniketti revealed that he turned down an offer to play guitar for Ozzy Osbourne in 1982. According to th singer/guitarist, Y&T were on the road with AC/DC in Dublin, Ireland, when Ozzy showed up in the band's dressing room, with his wife and manager, Sharon and practically begged Meniketti to join right in front of his Y&T bandmates. Meniketti declined the offer, content with his involvement in Y&T, when Ozzy insisted that he teach Brad Gills how to be a rock star. Gillis had replaced legendary guitarist Randy Rhoads as Ozzy's guitaist, but the former Black Sabbath frontman felt he was too much of a square.
