There has been a lot of speculation in recent months about whether or not popular rapper Lil' Wayne will be leaving Cash Money Records. The speculation started last December, when the rapper reported on Twitter that his latest album, Tha Carter V, would not be released because "Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it." The speculation only increased when he later added that he wants off the label, and the fires were stoked once again when Lil' Wayne filed a lawsuit against the label seeking $51 million. Cash Money co-founder Birdman, also known as the rapper Baby, has been relatively quiet through all the rumors, but is getting ready to break his silence. Birdman recently spent 48 hours with Power 105.1's Angie Martinez for a lengthy interview in which he discusses his relationship with Lil' Wayne. The interview debuts today at 4 PM ET, but the station released a two-minute teaser that can be viewed online.
Power 105.1's Angie Martinez spent 48 hours with Birdman for an exclusive interview with him where he discusses the status of his relationship with Lil Wayne. While the full interview won't be out until today, Tuesday, July 28, at 4 p.m.m ET, Power 105.1 previewed a two-minute teaser. Birdman also expressed frustration with Lil' Wayne's decision to complain on Twitter, rather than approaching him about it. "That was shocking to everybody. You never thought Mula would be saying nothing negative about me ever, in no lifetime," Birdman explained. "I never thought that could ever happen - for that man to open his mouth and say something negative about me... that was a lot. Shit fucked my day up. I love my son. He mean the world to me. For that man to say something negative about me, that affected my life."
