Kentucky folk legend Jean Ritchie passed away Monday at her home in the Appalachian Mountains.  The Kentucky legend was 92 years old.  Born November 8, 1922, Ritchie was a beloved citizen of Kentucky and revered for her catalog of obscure folk songs that might have been lost if she'd never recorded them.  While never achieving commercial success on a large scale, Ritchie is an important figure in the history of the Kentucky and folk music scenes, neither of which can be properly told without mentioning her.  Listen to Ritchie's performance of "The L and N Don't Stop Here Anymore" in the YouTube clip above.
