Former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland is blaming equipment problems for a series of sub-par performances from the singer at recent gigs for Weiland's new band, The Wildabouts. One reviewer noted that Weiland looked "sluggish" and another said that he "appears to have crashed and burned. Badly." The issue got even more attention over the weekend after a fan uploaded footage of The Wildabouts' April 28th appearance in Corpus Christi, Texas. In addition to his overall bad performance in the clip, Weiland also introduces the STP classic Vasoline as a new song before butchering the well-known track. In an interview Sunday afternoon, the embattled singer addressed the Corpus Christi debacle, claiming his in-ear monitors were not working, so he couldn't hear himself.
