Iconic metal bassist Rudy Sarzo, who has worked with Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Dio and Ozzy Osbourne, revealed in an interview last week that he will no longer perform with Blue Oyster Cult. Sarzo cited scheduling conflicts with other projects he's working on, and described the split as amicable. Check out a recent bass solo from Sarzo at a Blue Oyster Cult show below.
The other projects Sarzo alluded to in the UltimateClassicRock.com interview include Tred, a new band featuring former Anthrax singer Dan Nelson and Twisted Sister drummer AJ Pero and Animetal USA, a project inspired by Japanese anime. Sarzo is also currently touring with Dio Disciples, a band paying tribute to legendary hard rock vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who passed away last year.
