A new film about a pair of Seattle journalists-turned-politicians will reportedly feature a pair of never-before-heard songs from legendary Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley, who died tragically from a drug overdose in 2002. The Puls of Radio reported this week that the songs will be in the film "Grassroots," although it is not certain at this time whether they'll be included on a soundtrack album. It was also not clear whether the songs were recorded during Staley's time with Alice in Chains or after. The film, which stars Jason Biggs and Joel David More, will be released to limited theaters June 22nd. CHeck out a trailer for "Grassroots" below.
