R&B star R. Kelly, according to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times, is behind on his taxes by almost $5 million, even though he paid Uncle Sam more than $1 million last year. The controversial singer's financial woes are well documented, having lost his Chicago suburb mansion to foreclosure last year, and he has had his share of criminal issues, as well, including the highly publicized case involving child pornography. Kelly was absolved of all of those charges, however.
Kelly has outstanding tax liabilities for income generated as far back as 2005. In addition to last year's payment of $1 million, the singer also paid $2.8 million on the tax debt back in 2008 But neither his 2009 album "Untitled" nor his 2010 set "Love Letter" have gone gold. Kelly is about to drop his eleventh album, "Write Me Back," which is slated to hit stores June 26th.
