Organizers for the VooDoo Music Experience announced on Monday that alternative rock favorites Green Day will headline the 2012 rendition of the event.  The gig is a familiar one for the trio, who previously took part in the New Orleans concert in 2004.  Voodoo Fest is slated for the weekend of October 26-28, and the full lineup for the even is scheduled to be revealed on Wednesday.  For Green Day, the Voodoo Experience is the only currently scheduled US tour date scheduled for this year, and will fall between its releases of "Uno!" and "Dos!"  The third album in the trilogy, "Tre!," is slated for a January 15, 2013 release.
