According to a piece from Rolling Stone over the weekend, Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell is estimating that the band's new album will be out in stores by October at the latest. Cornell noted that the recording was about 75 percent done before the band was approached to contribute a song to the soundtrack for "The Avengers," which shattered box office records this weekend. Cornell hinted that the band's 1st album since 1996 may be ready in September, but guessed October to be on the safe side. The album has not yet been titled.
