Legendary Flying Burrito Brothers bassist Chris Etheridge passed away this week at the age of 65, according to a report from Rolling Stone. The musician was hospitalized last week, though a cause of death has not been made public. Dozens of musicians who've worked with Etheridge, including Willie Nelson, took to Twitter and other social media outlets Monday to express their condolences and sorrow at his death.
Chris Etheridge was one of the founding members of the Flying Burrito Brothers, considered pioneers in the incorporation of rock elements in country music. He was also a member of the International Submarine Band and worked with numerous iconic artists including Judy Collins, Leon Russell, Johnny Winter, Randy Newman, Ry Cooder, Linda Ronstadt, The Byrds, Jackson Browne and Willie Nelson.
