Michael "Big Mike" Hossack, the longtime drummer of the Doobie Brothers, passed away at his home in Dubois, Wyoming Monday after a long battle with cancer. He was 65. Hossack punded the skins for the Doobie Brothers from 1971 to 1974 and rejoined the band in 1987, playing with them until two years ago when his battle with cancer began. Hossack took part in some of the band's biggest hits, including "China Grove" and "Blackwater." The drummer was raised in New Jersey and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. He is survived by a son and a daughter.
