Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana, with his two-year residency at the Las Vegas House of Blues fast approaching, announced on Tuesday he will release a new solo instrumental album on May 15th, two weeks after the residency begins.  Titled "Shape Shifter," the album is being released by Santana's own Starfaith label, with RED handling distribution.

Santana's residency at the House of Blues will be the first ever at the casino.  Tickets for the 45 shows this year are scheduled to go on sale March 3rd, the day after the debut show, for which tickets are already on sale.  The venue is being reconfigured for Santana's residency, with seating replacing some open space, reducing the room's capacity from 1,600 to 1,200.
