Adele's Grammy-winning "21" album got a huge boost, seeing the biggest one-week gain in sales ever in the week after the Grammys. The album moved a total of 730,000 copies for the week, a gain of 493,000 over last week. With that 207% sales increase, the album easily claimed its 21st week at the summit of the Billboard chart.
The previous record for sales gain in a week came on March 15th, 2003 when Norah Jones' "Come Away With Me" enjoyed a 144,000 copy increase in sales. Coincidentally, Jones' surge also came the week after the Grammys.
