Country legend Merle Haggard was released from a hospital in Macon, Georgia on Thursday and has returned to his home in Redding, California to recuperate from multiple illnesses. The singer had spent about a week in the hospital after being diagnosed with double pneumonia. During his stay, doctors also discovered three stomach ulcers and eight polyps in Haggard's colon. At one point, the singer checked himself out to return to his home by tour bus, but he returned after a few hours because he didn't feel up for the trip. Haggard's website shows his next scheduled performance on February 28th in Tuscon, Arizona, but it's unclear as yet how his health issues will affect that show and others.
