Original American Idol Kelly Clarkson has been tapped to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in February, according to a report from the Associated Press, citing anonymous sources.  The Super Bowl will be held February 5th, pitting the champions from the NFC and AFC against eachother.

Since winning the inaugural season of "American Idol," Clarkson has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and scored a handful of Top 10 hit singles.  According to the AP's report, the pregame entertainment at the Super Bowl will also feature a performance from Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, who are slated to sing "America the Beautiful."
