Kevin Johnson, the current mayor of California's capital city of Sacramento, awarded the key to the city to the hometown rock band Tesla on Wednesday at a ceremony in front of the Sacramento Rock and Radio Museum.  Check out some footage of the ceremony below.  Known for beginning the acoustic craze that took the hard rock world by storm in the 1990s, Tesla recently launched a 20th anniversary version of their "Five Man Acoustical Jam" including a lengthy tour in support of their latest album, "Twisted Wires And The Acoustic Sessions."

Footnote:  Some readers may recognize Mayor Johnson, even those who have never been in Sacramento.  Prior to being elected as Sacramento's first African-American mayor, he enjoyed a 14-year career in the NBA, playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns.
